It occurred to me today that with the many aspects of running a business as an artisan, the ups and downs of creativity, and the various challenges you face in the entire process; you always have choices.
My day began with a minor challenge on the business side of my project. Four hours later it had been one challenge that led to another, then another and another. When I felt myself getting frustrated I had to take a step back and look at the true reality of the situation.
The reality is that I am so very blessed. God has given me a gift. I am grateful for it. Any challenges that are presented to me are met with Him at my side, uplifting me, guiding me, teaching me.
So instead of the “I can’t do this, or this, or this” thought process that immediately came to mind; I focused on learning more about the area of work that caused my frustration and turned it into a wonderfully creative learning experience. I fixed the problem and had a very productive day (albeit in a different arena than planned).
In the end, it is your choice to take joy in what you do no matter the situation or circumstance. I could have chosen to have myself a nice little pity party, but instead, I chose Joy. I chose to listen, learn, and take joy, in the experience God gave me this day.
